This course focuses on the top-down approach used to plan an appropriate large-scale conference lighting system. Equipping students with the knowledge and design tools necessary for the task, the course instruction will focus on room analysis (focusing on ambient lighting, space, ceiling height, rigging options, and audience spread), advanced lighting theory, large-scale system distribution, effect lighting parameters, equipment selection, integration management and budget optimization.

To qualify for the Advanced Lighting – System Design course, students must have completed the Intermediate Lighting course, have a minimum of 400 hours of supervisor-approved hands-on experience with operating lighting equipment at the Intermediate Lighting level, or have completed the Advanced Lighting – Control course.
