In the Basic Lighting course, students will learn basic lighting theory and hands-on skills required to setup, operate, and strike a small-to-medium-sized event room, and to setup and strike a larger room.
The purpose of the Basic Lighting course is to teach students how lighting fixtures, control interfaces, and infrastructure work together to complete a lighting system. Students will learn how to setup, operate, and troubleshoot lighting equipment typically used in corporate live events.
If you have a general understanding of lighting equipment and are interested in advancing your skills in live event lighting technology, then this course is for you.
After taking this course you will have knowledge on how to:
- Setup, operate, and strike lighting fixtures, interfaces, and lighting boards
- Troubleshoot lighting systems
- Apply industry best practices
- Develop theoretical knowledge on cabling, signal flow, luminance and optics, protocol languages, and overhead safety
