In the Basic Video course, students will learn basic video theory and hands-on skills required to setup, operate, and strike a small- to medium-size event room, and to setup and strike a larger room.

The purpose of the Basic Video course is to teach students how displays, processing equipment, and sources work together to complete a video system. Students will learn how to setup, operate, and troubleshoot video equipment used in live events.

If you have a general understanding of video equipment and are interested to advance your skills in live event video technology, then this course is for you.


After taking this course you will have knowledge on how to:

  • Setup, operate, and strike projectors, monitors, switchers and video accessories, pc and mac laptops, windows, android, and apple tablet devices, slide advancers, and recording systems.
  • Troubleshoot video systems.
  • Industry best practices.
  • Theoretical knowledge on cabling, signal flow, optics, pixel ratios, and lens types.
